AS365 F Dauphin

AS365 Dauphin

A French Navy Panther helicopter lands aboard guided-missile destroyer USS Decatur (DDG 73). Decatur joined a coalition task force led by French nuclear-powered surface vessel FS Charles de Gaulle (R 91), which is currently providing air support to U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan. Decatur is deployed to the region in support of Maritime Security Operations (MSO) which help set the conditions for security and stability in the maritime environment, as well as complement the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations. The Dauphin 35F from the French nuclear-powered aircraft carrier FNS Charles De Gaulle (R 91) takes off from the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) after participating in a search and rescue (SAR) exercise with the "Eightballers" of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron (HS) 8. Stennis, as part of the John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group, is on a regularly scheduled deployment in support of Maritime Security Operations (MSO). MSO help set the conditions for security and stability, as well as aid counter-terrorism and security efforts to the regional nations.
